What’s more boring than selling a blender? That’s right. Except a blender that can blend almost everything….like your latest gadgets.

Will It Blend? is a series of short videos featuring BlendTec’s founder - Tom Dickson. The videos demonstrate the the power of its blender by blending stuff that people normally wouldn’t blend like..golfball, cellphone, marbles, footballs, ipod (ouch), iphone (double ouch!).

It’s a no-brainer, but it works. From an interview with its geeky, scientist look alike founder:
The videos were placed on the internet in early November. Within just a few short days, we had millions of views. The campaign took off almost instantly. We have definitely felt an impact in sales. Will it Blend has had an amazing impact to our commercial and our retail products.
The campaign is all about brand awareness. Helping us to build top-of-mind awareness and establish Blendtec as the premier blender manufacturer.
The best thing is this whole viral marketing campaign for blendtec transformed into internet meme. Many home video producers (a.k.a youtubers) have tried to blend their own stuff (with their own regular blender, I might add) and spoofed the similar format with Will It Blend? for the fun of it.
That summed up one of the many viral marketing series I will be doing.
