Where To Learn SEO or [insert here whatever that can earn you money on the internet]

My good friend visited me yesterday. He just knew that I resigned my job and started my own venture a while ago, and come to concern about my situation now. I had a lunch with him, and explained to him what I plan to do, things like internet marketing and some SEO stuff. He is on the medical field, so basically I had to go from ground up on explaining. Finally when I’m done, he raised a sudden question: …

“Where do you learn all these stuff?”

“Internet Forum,” I told my friend. “A place where expert shares valuable advice and willing to teach…”. I go on explaining how forum works by using a message board as metaphor, and how the newbie/wannabe learn stuff by asking questions or reading the threads or providing feedback and so on.

Forum is the best place where you learn stuff from the internet.

SitePoint Forums
SitePoint provides almost everything anybody needs to know from buying domain names, to starting a web design firm. Perhaps the very first forum that I joined 3 years ago. My first eye-opening experience. I still remember I spent few weeks alone just to go through every single resources there.

Cre8asite Forums
Cre8asite was founded and launched at 2002, which is fairly new compare to other major forums. Major discussion of cre8asite forum are website usability, SEO as well as internet marketing. Owing much to the leadership of the administrator and moderators, this forum has been featuring some of the most important and constructive discussions. And, the forum promotes a friendly yet professional atmosphere that really makes the member comfortable being there.

This is where I currently become active in. The best forum I’ve joined till date.

Wicked Fire Internet Marketing Affiliate Forum
The newest forum in this list (founded just last month), but perhaps the fastest growing forum in the history of the internet. It was founded Jon, whom become famous for posting his earnings from Commission Junction at SitePoint Forum. The forum distincts from others by having a let-it-all-go attitude, that provide no censorship, no moderation, and not bound by any rules.

Webmaster Malaysia Forum
My local webmaster forum. It is huge in size (with over 5000+ members) but unfortunately, the forum has always become a victim of spam marketing, pay and surf program, and other MLM program, due to mostly lack of moderation and participation. Apart from that, the forum feature some of the most successful webmasters that makes a living thru the internet. This is another place I have recently become very active in.

Which Forums To Join?

Trust me, you won’t have sufficient energy to join/lurk/participate in all of the forums. Hence, it is wise to choose only few forums. You choose the forums depends on the suitability of the forum style, the discussion atmosphere (friendly/professional/fast pace), and perhaps your own agenda (to reach certain target people in certain forum). Either way, it is best to start joining and engage in discussion in lotsa forums, and start filtering up the less liked one thru your own judgement.
