Slow In Getting The Old Site Hype

by Lim CS on August 8, 2006

Yeah. I guess I ‘m slow to the scene, but I have been looking, searching, whois-ing, querying and buying old sites in the past weeks. The responses are really bad. You get around one reply out of the 20 emails you sent. But well worthed it. I haven’t done any deal now so I couldn’t provide any better information yet.

For those who are slower than me and still wondering what’s the big deal of the old site…

“Screw the Sandbox. Buy an old site” - Jim Boykins

“Google loves seniors” - Patrick Gavin

“Today is the right time to buy old sites” - Aaron Walls

“Some older sites seem to be able to get away with murder in Google’s search results.” - Andy Hagans

Coming up with specific ways to more effectively finding old (and possibly abandoned) sites in future posts. What about your experience on finding and buying old sites?

I have had some success buying aged domains. I found most of them on sites like dnforum and namepros. I just finished a site to compile listings from all of these sources. You can check out the site at:
