Penang Webmasters Gathering - It’s a BLAST

Ah, Calvyn and Jonathan beat me to blog about this. Nevermind. I’ll do my part.

It was probably the first official gathering for Webmaster Malaysia forum. Also, it is the first time that I organized such event. I was lucky to get assistance from John (MIRC) who organize TechNite there every month (I followed its format, no point reinvent the wheel ;) ), and Exabytes granted me the presence of its finest team to help out.

Though it can be better, but it’s safe to say that the evening was a blast!

We started out with my opening speech, followed by Jackie from Exabytes, and John to share about the up and coming Penang ICT Week.

After the appetizer, here comes the main dish: knowledge sharing session! It is actually suggested by one of our members so that it won’t be like another ‘drink-coffee-chat-and-go-home’ kind of gathering.

We then have a session of Q & A. The crowd asked on something about obtaining the RM150K grant from government or some organization.

This is the guy you looked for answer - Our very own John Goh. We gave out RM50 hosting voucher to the people that participate in the Q & A session.

I wrapped it up at around 10:15pm, but the night had just begun.

Last but not the least, thank you John for helping me out especially getting the permission from Starbucks Management, Chan from Exabytes for the full support and sponsoring the whole event, Exabytes Team: Lisa, Jackie, Roger, Kelvin and more, the speakers: Jonathan, Wilfred and Louiss all the way from KL, the always helpful Starbucks staff and everyone who attended this wonderful event. ;)

    Hey dude, great night indeed it was, so many great people there, too bad we didn’t get to stay till the “social” session, how I wish to learn more from all the experts there.
