I’m joining the Cutline crew. This is the Copyblogger’s version. I made some modification on the header and color, and I’ve got myself a customized theme. And hey, every blog needs a face lift once in a while ;)
Changing Focus
This blog has been struggling to find a specific, ideal audience to write for. Though most of the posts were catered for the more savvy audience like the webmasters and internet marketers.
For the past months, I have been given the opportunity to work with some business peoples: startups, mom and pop business, non-profit and more. And I discovered my greatest pleasure is derived from giving them advice to utilize the internet and search engines, and suggesting them the possibilities with internet.
This is where I will be focusing from now on in this blog.
Get Found?
I believe the simplest formula for business to succeed on the internet is to get found. Or more specifically, get found by the target audiences/prospects and convert them to customers .
Search Engine Marketing to Internet Marketing
If you sharp enough to notice my logo. I have changed the phrase below from search engine marketing to internet marketing.

The biggest reason for the change is, the term “search engine marketing” doesn’t work as a layman term, at least not for my target audience. I have been misunderstood so many times that I’m in the car industry where my job is to search the car engine for manufacturer. It might sound crazy but you have no idea how many people would assume that.
Another reason, is that I’m looking at the emergence of the social media, which is hailed as the future of communication. I’m also looking at the analytics solution, which is crucial for any business to measure their ROI on the internet. In other words, I want to step outside the box of search engine by looking at the big picture to succeed on the internet instead of just finding ways to improve the search engine ranking or getting the most from the paid search.
Hopefully, these will be the right changes and I will help more people to get found and succeed along the way.

What a great thing to do.
I guess this shift in focus could bring you a lot of good audience. I believe there are so many people out there who have just started their “internet journey” but gave up because many SEO sites are not newbie friendly.
I think that’s why SiteBuildIt succeeded like crazy.
Normal people who want to succeed - but not wanting to go under the hood.
Great re-thinking!

Hey, that search ‘car engine’ marketing is so funny!
SEO should be widely known, as much as plumbers are :)
